The Getaway; Day 1

Oh wow. How can I actually describe this day? It's been such an amazing afternoon and night that I honestly have no idea how to even begin. So lets start from the beginning shall we?

Noon

Aem and I met up in the Empire lobby and proceeded to check in. First it was all cool, until the guy asked for a deposit. So happily we said sure, and he went, "Letsee... for two rooms, then 10% on top, and you're staying for so and so days... that'll be $800 thanks."

Stop. Rewind. Play. Eight hundred dollars?! That was pretty much said in horrified unison, because he gave us, y'know. That look. But it's all good, cause we had our friend's credit card to charge it to.

Until it decided that it didn't like the card number :shifty: So I used mine, and everything was fine and dandy.

Then we went up to our room and tried using our key cards. Which decided that they didn't want to work. One moment it works, the next it doesn't. So... we started breathing on it and pretending to lick it (Don't ask. We're weird that way) and what the hell? They worked perfectly! *mutters about evil pervy key cards*

Letsee, nothing much happened after that, so I'll share the highlight of the day with you.

And what a highlight it is.

It was definitely the Flying Fish. It is this large raft-like boat which is divided into "three" columns on which a person sits on one, straddling the column and holding on to the handle placed there. There is obviously a canvas/webbing connecting the three columns.

So there we were, hopping onto it and the guy assured us that he'll start off slow.

It was an absolute blast! It's insane! The boat that's leading us causes our craft to bounce up and down the waves and honest to goodness it was just like riding a horse. You grip the sides of the column with your knees (well, I was :giggle: ) and hold onto the handle in front of you as though you're holding the front of a saddle.

And it started going a bit bumpy which was even more awesome. Riding lessons kicked in and I went into jumping horse pose. When the craft lifts, lean forward and then as it falls lean back. It keeps me balanced! Totally awesome!

But then... it got faster. I was starting to scream a bit every time we hit a wave (Hey! I'm scared shitless of drowning!) and that's when the fun started.

This was basically what you'd be overhearing.

Me: "SHIT!" (scream) "SHIT!" (screa-scre-screeeaaam) "FUCK!"
Riz: "ILOVEYOUGUYSILOVEYOUGUYSILOVEYOUGUYS AGHHH!!!!!"
Aems: "BWAHAHAHAHA!"

Which eventually evolved into;

Aems: "Are you alright Kae?!"
Me: "Don't" (scream) "Fucking worry! I'm fucking" (scream) "OK" (scream)

Aems: "Go down here, just lie down. It's not that bad"
Me: *slides down into the valley between the column*
Aems: "You don't need to hold onto the handle anymore!"
Me: "I DON'T FUCKING CARE! SHI-" (screams)

Aems slips and lands on me.

Aems: "Shit! Sorry Kae!" (Craft bounces and she re-bounces on me)
Me: "Don't worry! I'm fine!"

(Craft bounces)
"Sorry Kae!"
"I'm fine!"

(Craft bounces)
"Sorry Kae!"
"I'm fine!"

Rinse and repeat. In addition to that, Aems is trying to wave to the driver to slow down, but her voice has turned into whispers from all the screaming, and waving madly to get his attention but because of the angle of the craft, he can't see it!

Oh, and during all this, Riz does an ULTRA-MELDING-WITH-THE-CRAFT-AERODYNAMIC-JITSU!

So yes. Definitely highlight of the entire day. Tomorrow they're planning on doing it again, and I am prepared to be there.

On the boat, of course. While taping them on it

Evening

We ordered Pizza Hut (We're so classy!) and hahaha, the delivery guy wasn't allowed through the main gates. So Aems and Riz putt-putt-putts in a buggy to pick up the food. Then we pulled chairs out into the balcony, kicked back and chilled with the lovely sea breeze and the absolutely gorgeous view. Story of the Flying Fish was shared which pulled plenty of laughs. Kept chatting and it was such an awesome time. We were laughing, eating pizza and chicken wings, and we totally, totally relaxed.

A couple friends joined us later on and we headed down to the pool to swim and we sneaked there till about 10pm, at which point some guys in a buggy came up to us and said the pool was supposed to be closed by 7. Bummer, but we had our fun

The night was finished off with a game of pictionary, where we discovered that Riz's attempts at chocolate looked like pubic hair on shelves, that my attempt on drawing two left feet made my team come out as BIG FOOT! And that makeup remover and nail polish remove does an excellent job on erasing tough-to-rub-out ink on white boards.

So! On to Day 2!
